The Sunday before last we had a little stay-cation at the next county over from us for a night of R&R at the beautiful Shepherds House in Faversham - a total interior inspiration hot spot, from the mustard yellow walls of the lounge to the deep velvet purple chairs.
It was a complete dream of a stay from start to finish. Greeted by Clare with flutes of champagne bought to our room as we settled in (aka had our first bath of the day, there would be 3 had in the space of 14 hours, I mean look at the tub!) with the most exquisite room (we stayed in the very very large) heavenly bed, double shower and stunning bath tub feature to the room.
Matt and I wanted to make the most of the stay in such a beautiful place, by fully relaxing and just enjoying the night in our room. We did venture out a couple of times, once in the early afternoon for a walk and some chips and then later on for a glass of red in a cute micro pub almost directly opposite the house. When we got back we attempted to read some of our books in the lounge, whilst Matt enjoyed some of the complimentary whisky from the cabinet that was on offer whilst we listened to Wild Beasts and Tame Impala, until our eyes got so heavy that we just needed to be in that huge bed.
After a well earned lie in (it's so tiring to do the bare minimum isn't it... ha) and after one last deep bubble bath, we ate our breakfast cooked up by Clare, fresh coffee, green juices, fruit bowls and avocado with home made bread, hit the spot.
I can't recommend Shepherds House enough for a stay and I said to Matt we should try and stay in the other rooms there in the future.
