We ♥ Pandas

I Thought I would share some of the sketches I mentioned in my earlier post. The sketchbook I had to use wasn't ideal, it was the only one I had to hand and with it being a layout pad it wasn't exactly the most absorbent of paper and also its a bit of an awkward rectangular size, but for my experimenting it will do.
The first picture I messed up the mouth area and don't have any white paint so I tried tip-ex which basically just doesn't work as a worthy paint substitute... and with the third one I couldn't really be bothered to put detail or work into the ice cream cone. Just incase you think 'Woah that is one huge ice cream cone' it is infact a cub, I drew it from one of the cutest little panda cubs I have ever seen!
I hope you are all having a nice chilled evening.

Firstly I would like to say a hello to all the new followers!
I really appreciate all of you that have taken the time to read, comment or follow. I love reading your comments and having a little natter with you all.
Giveaway time!
So, I've decided that I am going to be doing a Blog giveaway and I will be posting the details about it tomorrow so keep a look out for that!

Secondly I'm going to be starting a series of illustrations entitled Picture Panda. I've started on some sketches of the general feel and look of how I want them to be, I must have drawn about 50 over the past two days! They will be mainly pencil, ink and pen illustrations on white cartridge paper. The Pandas will portray human traits such as hugging a teddy, licking an ice cream, holding a balloon, basically anything I deem quite cute or weird! I'm thinking down the lines of using the illustrations for some postcards and gift cards I already have my best friends birthday card planned, a giraffe and a panda eating birthday cake with little celebration hats on - her favourite animal is a giraffe you see. I definitely want to start giving hand drawn cards and little pictures away more instead of buying some generic card, which can be all fine and good but I just know personally I love it when someone gives me something that is hand drawn because of the thought that has gone into it, I'm a sucker for all things hand drawn.
Here is one of the quick exploratory stage sketches, the actual Panda Picture series will be waaay better because I will have the actual art materials I need and will have done all my initial background work, I just wanted you to know that haha.

Lastly I have posted the rest of my pen pal letters today so they should be on their way to their respective recipients very soon. Traveling international, I am actually quite jealous of those little letters... getting out of this currently very dreary, rainy looking town.
Please let the sun come out and play tomorrow!
